You already know about the Divya Darshanam scheme. The main aim of the scheme is to provide the free devotional tour for poor people who are economically backward cast in Andhra Pradesh. For this scheme, the government selected some famous temples which are present in AP for a devotional tour. So Tripurantakam is also present in that list

About Tripuranthakam:

Tripuranthakam is located in Ongole district. This temple is on top of a hill and it is considered as an Eastern gateway to famous temple Srisailam. Goddess Sri Bala Tripura Sundari is located down the hill in midst of tank.

There is one legend temple of Tripurantakam for Lord Shiva. In this place, Siva kills demos with the help of Bala Tripura Sundari.  This temple is built by Ganapathi dev of Kakatiya. People believe that cave located in temple complex connects Tripurantakam to Srisailam

History of Tripurantakam:

As per Puranas, Lord Siva self-manifested here at Kumaragiri now it called Tripuranthakam after killing the demon Tripurasura. Bala Tripura Sundari Swayambhu emerged from Chitagni Gundam after killing the demons. And another thing is Kumara Swamy killed the demon Tarakasura (Who is commander In chief) on top of a hill

Tarakasura has 3 sons Kamalakshudu, Vidyunnathi and Tarakakshudu want to take revenge of her father died. After long penance Lord Brahma granted a boon with the set of conditions. The tree demos misusing the boon so Lord Brahma along with devas approaches Lord Siva for rescue. So Lord Siva took help from Goddess during the war. Demos was killed by Goddess and Lord Siva.

  • Evening hours: 3 PM to 6:30 PM

  • Abhishekam, Melukolupu, and Harathi: 5 AM to 6 AM
  • Bala Bhogam: 6 AM to 7 AM
  • Kumkum Archana, Mahanyasa Rudrabhishekam, Nakshatra Japalu, Abhishekam, Navagraha Poojalu, Sarva Darshan: 7 AM to 2 PM
  • Maha Nivedhana: 11 AM
  • Archana, Gotra Namarchana: 11:30 AM
  • Nivedhana: 3 PM
  • Sarva Darshan: 3:15 PM
  • Kumkum Archana and other Abhishekam poojas: 2 PM to 4 PM
  • Bala Bhogam: 6 PM

Festivals:

Here Navaratri and Shiva Ratri festivals are celebrated. On those days many devotes come to darshan for Goddess Bala Tripura Sundari and Lord Siva.

How to Reach:

Now devotes can reach Tripuranthakam temple by rail, road, and bus without any risk. The nearest railway station is at Markapuram.
